Welcome
Background
Established in 1985, the Farm Resource Center (FRC) is a not-for-profit agency established expressly to respond to the needs of rural families in crisis. FRC has programs working for farmers, laborers, miners (including their respective families) and at-risk abused and neglected children. FRC also has a program that covers the needs of Post Adoption and Guardianship children and their families.
Farm Resource Center (FRC) is tailored to address concerns faced by rural Americans and their families.
APPLE - FRC’s Outreach Model
The Farm Resource Center (FRC) offers outreach mental health crisis intervention services to rural families using the "APPLE" principle as a guide.

- Accessible - Toll free hotline and a 24-hour Emergency Phone Response are available during hours when the office is closed. Our workers go to the consumer.
- Personal - The Consumer chooses the location where he/she wants to be seen for services.
- Professional - Our workers maintain professional standards by utilizing the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics as a guide in the provision of services.
- Linked - Our staff is required to be familiar with local organizations and resources, and have a positive working relationship with them to enhance the referral process.
- Empathetic - FRC workers have firsthand experience and understanding of the rural culture. This provides our workers with insight, sensitivity and understanding of the needs of those seeking our services.
