About Us

Farm Resource Center

The Farm Resource Center (FRC), a 501 (3) (c), non-profit corporation, FRC utilizes over 20 years of experience in delivering outreach mental health services to resistive rural populations to provide an innovative service approach to address the problems within the geographical regions of Illinois.

FRC’s unique outreach program is tailored to meet the needs of rural families who do not typically utilize traditional mental health or other social services. FRC’s outreach staff will provide in-home crisis intervention services that respect each family’s pride, independence and need for confidentiality.

FRC’s believes in a family-focused approach to service deliver. Through an in-home outreach approach, and extensive network system for linkage and referral, and community involvement and education, FRC will make a valuable contribution to the reduction of various family related concerns through early intervention and awareness.

Through the in-home outreach service approach, FRC is able to observe the family in their realistic day-to-day environment. This enables the outreach worker with an advantage of observing many issues pertaining to the family such as communication, discipline of children, personal hygiene, and living conditions within the home.

FRC strives to empower the consumer in the delivery of services. Through this system of service delivery the culturally sensitive outreach worker and the consumer mutually develop a plan of action that entails the goals and objectives for resolution of the presenting problems facing the family. Since the consumer is engaged in the process of creating the plan of action, commitment to positive change comes easier.

FRC considers the volunteer component of our program to be vital in the agency’s success. Volunteers are one of the keys to linking consumers with FRC and community-based services. Volunteers loan their credibility to FRC, open doors to resources for consumers, enhance linkage to community services, promote public awareness, and help recruit appropriate consumers in need.
