About Us
Mission
The mission of Farm Resource Center is to assist in the enhancement of the quality of life of individuals and their families through the provision of outreach crisis intervention, linkage and referral, and emergency response services. Farm Resource Center's Outreach Model is based upon the APPLE principle of service delivery - Accessible, Personal, Professional, Linked, and Empathetic.
Goals
To provide a toll-free emergency/crisis intervention phone service manned by trained staff who can provide confidential emergency consultation and referral to appropriate resources.
To provide assessment, crisis intervention, and linkage/referral services to consumers, through Outreach, in order to stabilize any emotional crisis which is occurring.
To increase the accessibility and acceptability of mental health services to the rural community, particularly the resistive populations of farmers, miners, and their families.
Philosophy
Farm Resource Center was founded upon the knowledge that there are individuals who are proud and independent by virtue of their heritage, occupation, or other factors which affect their willingness to access traditional mental health services. Farm Resource Center, with its outreach model of service delivery, empowers the consumer by providing the service on the consumer's own turf and removes much of the stigma often associated with receiving mental health health services.
